Bio: Dianna Fetter - Dianna comes to Project C.U.R.E. with 13+ years of experience working at a local Colorado non-profit, The Colorado Medical Society.  Dianna has a passion for non-profit work and brings extensive experience in non-profit association management within the healthcare arena. 

Dianna’s lifestyle is centered around her Christian faith and family. Dianna most often enjoys quilting, reading historical/fiction novels, gardening and exploring the outdoors with her husband Rob, and spending time with her adult children and two grandchildren.

Youth Involvement and Leadership

Topic: Dr. Thomas will speak to our club about his work with youth, primarily through 4-H at a national level but also through other organizations.  His 4-H youth have gone on to higher education and jobs across all industries.  Thomas's influence has been a large part in their individual successes. 

Bio: Dr. Thomas Ray has been a Rotarian since 1999. In his full time job, he provides leadership to the Team at the Poe Center for Health Education. He also provides STEM experiences for youth in Wake County and North Carolina through 4-H Youth Development. Thomas has an extensive background in positive youth development and risk behavior prevention work as well as public and private school classroom experience, having achieved National Board Certification while teaching in a Wake County high school. Additionally, Thomas has conducted significant work in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education in both formal and non-formal settings. His field work connecting technology and health issues has provided opportunities to present locally as well as on the national and international level. His most recent research studied perspectives of subjective well being. Thomas obtained his PhD in Educational Research and Policy Analysis from North Carolina State University. His Masters in Secondary Education is from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, and his undergraduate degree in Humanities is from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Thomas demonstrates Service Above Self as he volunteers with a number of community organizations. Thomas currently serves as Board Chair / President of RCF (Reunite Cultures Fund - International Cultural Exchange), Amazing Grace Adoptions and Orphan Care, and Mary Magdalene Ministries. Thomas is a father of four and grandfather of three. He enjoys learning from others, spending time outdoors, traveling, food and music.

My Rotary Journey

Topic: Dr. Michael Gordon will be sharing with us his extensive experiences in Rotary but domestically and internationally. 

Speaker:

Michael Gordon came to Las Vegas from Cape Town, South Africa in September 2006 on a Rotary International Ambassadorial scholarship. He received both his LL.B. (Bachelor’s degree) and LL.M. (Master’s degree) in Private Law from the University of South Africa.

Gordon is a double alumnus from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas graduating in 2008 with a Master’s in Public Administration and in 2013 with a Ph.D. in Public Affairs. During his time as a student, Gordon served three terms as President of the Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA) as well as one term as Chair of the Nevada Student Alliance, the overarching student government association for all NSHE student government organizations representing the more than 105,000+ higher education students in Nevada.

As a policy analyst at UNLV he researched and analyzed the academic infrastructure needs of the university while serving on the Faculty Senate, University Policy Committee and the Top Tier Community Engagement subcommittee.
